The combination of David Lynch and latter-day Billy Corgan should produce something weird enough to explode your eyeballs. But when DLF.TV, Lynch's new transcendental meditation-promoting website (or, per the website, the 'new Online TV Channel that celebrates consciousness, creativity and bliss'), went to visit Corgan in the studio, nothing unduly bizarre happened. Instead, we ended up with the rare Corgan story: One that actually involves the man at work on new music. In the below video, you'll hear some endearingly loopy Corgan-speak about 'the idea of where ideas come from', but you'll also see him hard at work laying down keyboards and vocal tracks. He also discusses his philosophy about working without a filter (which would explain something like this) and tells the story about how Lynch shot down his first contribution to the Lost Highway soundtrack. The story involves Shaq rapping. It's a good story. And we get to see new 19-year-old Smashing Pumpkins drummer Mike Byrne auditioning. Check it out below.
